Strategic Vision
Invite and include all people into community where all may be transformed by the Gospel
We value the wholeness that comes when all God’s people are invited and included and how the transforming power of the Holy Spirit is ever-present and working in us individually and corporately. The call noted above for greater external communication naturally carries over into this final priority.
With a greater focus on “inviting and including all people”, we attempt to address the stated concerns many identified as missing critical demographics such as youth, young families, the LGBT community, African-Americans, Hispanics, etc. However, the priority extends beyond “inviting and including”, for implicit in transformation is discipleship.
Potential effects upon existing diocesan structures and current organizations:
- Parishes and Missions – in preaching and teaching; in development of community-building opportunities for congregants
- Diocesan Communications – in providing/helping with advertising, signage, websites
- Diocesan Staff – in offering training/workshops in areas like evangelism, anti-racism, and other ways to see where we need to open our arms to all God’s children
- Diocesan Special Interest Groups – LGBT/Integrity, DYC, African-American, etc. – in concentrated efforts to reach persons in these particular demographics
